People buying diapers in stores.....I learned after my first daughter that www.1800diapers.com is cheaper and easier. Free shipping over a certain amount and you can use coupons:) UPS brings the diapers to your door. You can buy big boxes (Costco size) or small packs. Whatever works:)

I collect box tops for our base schools. The base schools do not receive money from local taxes (i.e. property tax, etc) because those of us who live on base do not pay these taxes. It is amazing how excited the principals get about a ziploc baggy full of these...it'll buy crayons, paper, chalk, etc. for a class room! So, if you all wouldn't mind helping me help the schools, I'd be happy to get them to the right people. Schools currently get redemptions from "Box Tops" on General Mills and other products, Campbell's labels, Tyson labels, and other similar products. Just cut out the logo and/or UPC, and you're set.

Speaking of savings...check out www.upromise.com
I was referred here by MCCS's financial counselors when I worked there, and it is the best deal going for college savings. We now use the credit card for ALL of our purchases, and we get back 1% on all our spending (in addition to using the affiliated vendors). You can get rewards even if you don't want to use their credit card. We've seen a big investment in this first year of using it (um, maybe we spend too much =)), and Asaiah's 529 allows the grandparents to make contributions as they please! =)

Hi Moms,

For those of you who have had negative experiences at the Naval Hospital, I STRONGLY encourage you to file a complaint. Generally speaking, I've had a great response from filing complaints. I've also had the commanders comment that without formal complaints they are not able to take specific actions. Complaints can be filed online or with the patient relations department. I usually file via email/drop of my complaint so that I have a hard copy to reference.
I hope this helps.

I second Emily's comment - we had much better results - as in follow up from higher-up's after filing a writen complaint online. Also, my father always told me not to complain unless I had a suggestion, so I always try to say what would have made the experience better. To add to that, I also have been filing formal COMPLIMENTS when they do something great - which sadly is not as often as they do something irritating, but I got a thank you letter from the CO of the hospital saying how great it is for morale to have compliments. Ok, off my soap box. :)
xo, Jennie

Don't know if you all do this already or not but in case you don't...be sure to check out coupon/promo/discounts online. You can save big bucks - I found a pretty good link: http://www.couponcabin.com/coupons/target/index.htm I am sure there are others...basically you log in, and look for the deals you want...I am sure that some of these have access to where you can have them alert you when a particular item is coming up etc...
Try it out..I am looking now for the diaper deals.

If you are ever in need of a site to answer the question: What kind of spider just bit me...or what was that thing that ran across the kitchen floor...here's the site: http://www.whatsthatbug.com also good for school agers that are doing research.

Just a quick tip if anyone else has this issue happen to them: Olivia has a milk allergy, boooooo, anyway so it’s all soy all day long for us. She hates soy, won’t touch it…however, I have found a way to get her to eat the soy yogurt (and yes if you were wondering there’s soy everything: cheese, butter, milk, ice cream). She likes pumpkin and if you mix the soy yogurt with whole pumpkin pulp (canned) a glob of honey, cinnamon, ginger and cloves you actually get something tastes rather just like pumpkin pie. It’s really not bad, and I am a picky eater. I gave it to her to eat….she spooned it right up and ate 1 cup just GONE within a few minutes. I was amazed and thrilled. I got in a few bites as well, really not bad…totally suggest it to you all if you are in need or know someone who is…cause I’ll tell you trying to make my kid eat soy is really, really frustrating. If you all have other tips…send my way please.
